How OneWeb plans to make sure its first satellites aren’t its last

If all continues to go as planned, OneWeb’s first six spacecraft will finish on-orbit testing this spring, clearing the path for an initial system of 648 satellites — 600 operational and 48 spares — and setting the stage for a larger system that could eventually number 900 or more satellites.

SpaceX Dragon Crew Demo-1 Flight to Space Station

SpaceX successfully launched its first Crew Dragon capsule to the International Space Station (ISS) on March 2 and now the mission is underway.
This flight, known as Demo-1, is uncrewed. But if all goes well, Crew Dragon will likely carry astronauts to and from the orbiting lab for the first time this summer.

The Device Under Test is mounted on the laser guided 3D gimbal rotating platform. The 3D gimbal is controlled over a simple USB connection with open source software (source provided) containing all the functions and API to run and plot a full spherical (or partial) radiation pattern graph up to 1 degree resolution (64000 points). What we really need is to look at a hurricane and figure out which butterfly caused it — or perhaps stop it before it takes flight in the first place. DARPA thinks AI should be able to do just that.
FCC prepares next mmWave auction

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) moved to unleash another massive tranche of mmWave spectrum for mobile service, as it approved an auction of airwaves in the 37GHz, 39GHz and 47GHz bands for the second half of 2019.
Commissioner Brendan Carr declared 2019 “the year of 5G”, noting the new auction plan will “result in more spectrum being auctioned in a single year than at any time in the commission’s history”.
